An Assamese Cop made his way to Guinness Book of Records

Assam Police constable Abhijit Baruah Tuesday made it to the Guinness Book of World Records after running 156.2 km barefoot, which he covered in 24 hours. 
 
The dream run was ceremonially flagged off at 03:56 p.m. on Monday (January 30) and ended at 03:56 p.m. on Tuesday (January 31) completing a 24 hours time span.
 
B.K. Chandrasekhar Tiwari, the Indian observer for the Guinness Book of World Records blew the whistle at 3.56 p.m. on Monday at the approach to the Tarajan bypass on the western outskirts Jorhat, signalling the beginning of the gruelling run by local lad and Assam Police constable Abhijeet Baruah.
 
Tiwari, who arrived from Delhi on Monday, said Abhijeet would have to complete at least 150 km barefoot in 24 hours to gain entry into the record book.
 
The event, which was organized by "The Great Run Club, Jorhat" was flagged off by Jorhat MLA Rana Goswami. 
 
Born in 1990 at Atila Gaon on the outskirts of Jorhat town, Abhijit won gold medals in the All Assam Open Style Martial Art Championship, National Amateur Muay Thai Championship, IPMA National Amateur Muay Thai Championship, Kolkata and 6th National Amateur Kickboxing Championship in Delhi.
